Dr. A Charmila is an experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in Trichy, specialising in IVF (in vitro fertilisation). After obtaining the MBBS degree from Coimbatore Medical College in 1992, she moved to Mumbai for further studies in 1994. She received the MD (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) postgraduate degree through Grant Medical College in 1997, and also obtained the DGO and DFP qualifications from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Mumbai, during the same period. Dr. Charmila is a Fellow of the Indian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She has also received specialised training in ultrasonography, ART, hysteroscopy and laparoscopy.
Having begun practising professionally 18 years ago, Dr. Charmila is currently available for consultation at the Parvathy Ayyavoo Fertility Centre at the Aditi Hospital in Trichy, where she is also designated as Director. She has presented papers at various conferences and events connected to her field, such as AICOG, YUVA FOGSI and DAKSHIN, and at many events of Indian Medical Association chapters and OG Societies in India. Besides being an office-bearer of various professional bodies, Dr. Charmila has won five trophies of the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI) while serving as Secretary of the Trichy OG Society (TRIOGS).
